I’ve Lost All My Wisdom

Wisdom teeth, that is.

Yup, I got all three of them removed today. It was not nearly as bad as I had been expecting. They knocked me out, and the last thing I remember before waking up is the doctor’s assistant clamping big monitor clips to my wrists. Very, very fast. And I woke up totally numb – which is better than being in pain. I haven’t been in very much pain, actually, but that’s because I’m taking lots of Ibuprofen. Yeah, I found out that the Oxycodine they sent me home with makes me sick. But I think I’m doing fine on the Ibuprofen.

They also told me that I couldn’t eat any dairy products the first day because it would upset my stomach. Well, I had some cream cheese on teeny tiny cracker pieces and did just fine. Neither my mom nor I were thinking when she offered me the cheese, and when we realized I had eaten cheese I was able to get a yummy McDonald’s milkshake for dinner. Oh, but how I crave real food.

Now, if only the tooth fairy would stop by like she used to…
